Christmas ~ Part II

We spent Christmas Eve at Ryan's aunt's house where Jill and Kaiser provided a delicious dinner, we played a gift exchange game and sang carols. We had such a great time!! Unfortunately I didn't have my camera so all the pictures on on Jill's camera... I may get them sometime... :)

Christmas morning is still pretty slow paced and relaxing around here. I think Ryan and I were more anxious for it than Dylan, he's not quite into it yet. But doesn't he look adorable in his Christmas jammies!?!

We went a little overboard this year, the playroom pretty much needed a full makeover. Dylan has outgrown his baby toys but isn't quite to the kids toys yet, it's a strange stage really. His favorite thing to do it put things in cupboards, boxes, etc. and take them out and try them in new spots. You wouldn't believe the things I find in my kitchen cupboards! It's awesome!! So we had to kind of guess what he may like in the next few months and found some great deals on these wooden toys that we really like. Here are some pictures of the new playroom with a play table (he got a small train from Grandparent's Thomas and some cars to drive on there from Grandma Humphrey and Anna, but he doesn't quite get it yet) he mostly just stacks everything up there (including himself) and then takes it all off, over and over... He also loves to play with the kitchens anywhere we go, again with the cupboard thing! So Santa got him a play kitchen and this play house which truthfully I play with more than him! I love that he is already pretending to make food and feeds us when it is ready. We also got a treehouse that matches these but it's too old for him so I think Santa gave it to the Easter Bunny...

Obviously he wasn't interested at all in looking at the camera.

Two perfect examples of him taking everything to place in the oven, including the sink and the play house bathroom!

As I said before Ryan got me the new video camera - really it's for all of us since I know you all will be loving the videos I post on here! *wink, wink And I got Ryan a leather messenger bag for his computer and school stuff, he has wanted one for a while and it was a complete surprise! Yeah me!!

After Santa and family gifts at our house we got ready and went to the wild and crazy Thomas house for brunch and presents - lots and lots of presents... Stay tuned I have to get the pictures before I post about that, I know you're on the edge of your seats in anticipation!

Christmas ~ Part I

Last year my family started the fantastic tradition of celebrating Christmas the Sunday BEFORE the actual holiday. It's so nice, Christmas day is a lot more relaxing than when you aren't running around to different families and such. This year we went to my moms and had a fantastic steak dinner! It was delicious!! We had a great night opening gifts, playing games and eating, eating, eating. Thanks everyone!

Zoo Lightzzz

For Anna's 16th Birthday we went to Zoo lights. Dylan loved it this year! Last year it was freezing cold so we did a lap in about 10 minutes and were out of there. I forgot my camera but took some pics with the new video camera Ryan got me, they are kind of a strange size...

Ryan gave me this awesome little HD video camera for Christmas (early of course - if you know Ryan you know he couldn't keep a present until the actual holiday if his life depended on it!) so here is the first of many video's to come.

Puppy Dog Tales

You all know how much I love my own two adorable pups - Sasha & Capri. Well my sister-in-law, Kristi, got a beautiful little chocolate lab that I get to help take care of during the day while she works.

Meet Bella - She is incredibly sweet, playful and patient, especially with all these kiddos around. Although she loves to torment Sasha and Capri is still trying to figure out where she fits in!

This is a few weeks ago, she ran around the chair with the broom while Dyl tried to put the dustpan back on the handle where it goes! This went on for about 30 minutes...

More of the Boys

Dylan is having so much fun with his cousins here! Lincoln (almost 4) and Sawyer (21 months) are all you could expect from little boys - they are rambunctious, loud and love to go, go, go! This is a new experience for Dylan and he is learning fast how to keep up and compromise...sometimes...They are all very cute together! It will be so different to have a little girl in the mix - hope she's tough!

I love this rare moment when they are all sitting nicely on the booth at Pei Wei.

Romance v. Reality

Ryan and I have never been the overly romantic types, we tend to keep it pretty casual and comfy when we go out. We were planning to go to dinner and already had tickets with his family to attend "Scrooge" at the Terrace Plaza Playhouse. But the reality of going out with little Dyl kicked in when he fell asleep on our way to dinner - so romance changed to Pei Wei take-out in the car before the play. It was actually very fun and we got a good laugh out of it!

After our yummy dinner and good fortunes we went to the playhouse to meet up with the family and see SCROOGE! This is a fun family tradition that Grandpa Thomas (Ryan's Grandpa/Dylan's Great) always treats us to - Thanks Grandpa! Dylan absolutely loved it, I couldn't believe how good he was. Grandpa got us seats in the front row so Dylan thought he was part of the show, sometimes this was a problem when we tried to get down on the stage and sing and dance with the other kids. He also said 'hi' to everyone as they came on stage, said 'bye' to the stage crew as they changed up sets in the dark and said 'yeah' every time the lights went out even before everyone began to clap. Grandpa wanted to get Dylan a treat at intermission too and we discovered he LOVES KIT KATS! It was everywhere and he loved every second of it, unfortunately we didn't get a picture of that one.

Dylan loved Marley and his chains, he doesn't seem to get scared of anything yet. He also loves Shane - one of the stars from our theatre company (Jaks) and a very good friend to Dylan. Overall we had a fantastic day!

Ten years of...marital bliss?

I don't know that I would have thought that at every moment over the last 10 years but at this moment I do. I understand that Ryan is the lucky one in our relationship (sarcasm intended) but I don't think I could have married anyone more perfect for me! He is an incredible support to all my crazy whims - and I certainly have more than my fair share. He is a fantastic dad! And he still makes me laugh EVERY DAY and I am not exaggerating. His dad consistently shakes his head when I laugh at something 'dumb' and says "it's a good thing you married her because you really aren't that funny". But you ARE that funny to me and let's face it, that's all that matters.

Thanks for being my best friend and here's to ten more with all the good and the bad as long as we're laughing!

LOVE YOU

Sixteen? Really??

Yesterday was my sisters SIXTEENTH Birthday! I don't really know how this is possible - she's just a baby, right?

Here she is 10 years ago. This is one of my favorite pictures of our wedding day, she was so in love with Ryan - could she be more adorable?

Ten years later Anna is still so much fun to be with, she is a fantastic aunt, sister and friend. Overall an absolutely beautiful person, she's actually quite a little smarty-pants too!

LOVE YOU ANNA BANANA BOO

A couple of hours ago our first little niece was born - she is BEAUTIFUL! Here is the first pic, taken on Grandma's phone. We haven't seen her yet but can't wait, both she and Lisa are doing well.
